HOPE VS. FAITH

To-Do Challenge
The first step to finding faith is to act as if you already have it. It’s the “Fake it till you make it” mentality. Usually this saying applies to gaining confidence in situations, like when you’re trying to get a job or promotion. But in this case you’re “faking” confidence in you. When you begin to act as if you already have personal faith, then everything you do will be done with confidence and positivity. Once you’re ready and willing to act on faith, try the following practice.
Begin by creating a “Life To-Do List”. It can be a type of bucket list, but it should incorporate things big and small that you want to achieve. Think about hobbies you want to try, places you want to visit, or new foods you want to make. Write down your dreams of sky-diving, speaking another language, or learning how to swim. Let your mind wander to when you were a kid and recall the life you dreamt of having. Is there some aspect that you can incorporate now?

Once you’ve made your list, challenge yourself to pick one *beginner* or a few *advanced* items that you want to focus on doing. Start by choosing something that’s easy to begin or achieve, in order to build some confidence in the process. It’s easy to make excuses to avoid trying something new. But if you keep waiting for things in you’re life to just happen, they might never come. If you want to learn a new language start by buying a book or sign-up for a class online. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to bake reach out to a skilled friend or family member and make a day of it!
Gaining faith starts by making small positive changes in your life and following through on them. Use your list to create short-term goals that are achievable. Then soon enough, you’ll find that when you exercise personal faith you can accomplish all of your goals. It might not always be in the way that you expected or planned, so keep an open mind and trust in yourself. Because when you trust yourself everything that you do will bring you where you need to go.
