Visualization is a method used to help people achieve their desired outcomes. The purpose is to obtain something in the future by imagining that you already have it now. Before anything is created it’s a simple thought first. By visualizing your desires you’re one step closer to achieving them.
Returning to your past is part of the Reunite with You journey, so when you utilize a visualization you aren’t just envisioning the future. The goal is to remember your genuine sense of self and bring it into the present moment. From there, picture or feel how you can integrate your identity so that it follows you into the future.
When was the last time you felt carefree?
Try to remember what it felt like when you were under no obligations. When you had no plans to make or commitments to worry about. This was probably a time when you were very young, so it might be hard to recall. Do your best to envision that time in your life.
Do you remember what it felt like to be free from responsibility? When you cared about whatever made you happy. Your only priorities were your friends, toys, and the things that brought you safety and comfort. It was the time in your life when some of your biggest fears were the dark or the monsters under your bed. Remind yourself of this carefree time in your life and how you felt.
Visualize a memory, a moment, or an emotion from this carefree time in your life. Envision the person you were, because even as a child you were still you. You can relive this sense of freedom and become your truest self. Hold onto these images and feelings. Embody the moments from when you were carefree and just you. Use them to remind yourself of the person you were -who you still are inside- and who you can always return to.
